About the Position Dr. Wanli Xing is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated postdoctoral researcher to join the AICE lab at University of Florida. The selected candidate will have rich opportunities for research, development, and grant proposals. Specifically, the candidate will work on the state-of-the-art AI technologies such as large language models in educational contexts, analyze large-scale educational data using theory-informed computing models, and disseminate findings through top-tiered conferences and journals in education. We will also work on grant proposals to seek federal, foundational, and internal support, with the possibility of the candidate taking a key personnel role.
Location : Gainesville, Florida, US
Duration : 2 years, with the possibility of extension

Qualifications:
- PhD in educational technology, human-computer interaction, or computer science with a focus on AIED, LA, or EDM.
- Proven track record of publications in reputed conferences and journals.
- Proficiency in Python or other data science toolkits.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred but not required: Knowledge of contemporary issues and trends in education and learning technology.
- Preferred but not required: Knowledge of PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, DeepSpeed (or similar optimization library), CUDA, and Slurm.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct high-quality research and publish findings in reputable conferences and journals.
- Collaborate on designing and developing AI-enabled technologies for STEM learning with a multidisciplinary team of researchers.
- Assist in writing research proposals and securing funding for future projects.
- Present research findings at conferences and workshops.
